Strada dei vini e dei sapori (Route of wines and flavours)

Le strade dei vini e dei sapori

The Strada dei Vini e dei Sapori in Rimini’s hillside is a route through some of the most beautiful towns on the Riviera offering magnificent scenery and expressing history, an identity and this land’s ancient cultural and food and wine traditions.

This journey to discover the genuine and excellent food and wine from Romagna and its people touches on farms, wine growers, farm holidays, oil mills, pubs, restaurants, cantinas and wine shops, workshops where local homemade sweets and pasta are made, and hotels. It’s also a journey to uncover the shops selling artistic handcrafts (pottery, terracotta, hand-printed textiles) and all the typical local products such as oil, wine, honey, fresh and aged cheese, and meat and cured pork meats made with the prized Romagnolo breed.

One must not forget that the Province of Rimini has the largest number of oil mills in the Region of Emilia Romagna, and excels in the production of wines, many of which fall under the Colli di Rimini DOC category.

Hinterland

Entroterra Romagna

Just a short distance away from the seaside towns along the Riviera, visitors discover another side of Romagna - the one of the Malatesta seigniory, of the House of Montefeltro, and of valuable historic and naturalistic sites.

Attractions

Attrazioni Rimini Riccione Cattolica Bellaria Igea Marina

Rimini, Riccione, Cattolica and Bellaria-Igea Marina: four tourist destinations in the province of Rimini overlooking the Adriatic Sea, four cornerstones of local Romagnolo culture and traditions.

Rimini and the Fellini-like atmospheres of San Giuliano and its characteristic quarters, Domus del Chirurgo (Surgeon’s House) and the Roman amphitheatre, cultural routes in the city centre and the charm of Marina Centro with its beach establishments, fish restaurants and typical trattorias.

Restaurants

Ristoranti

Sipping a good glass of wine in a cantina, having lunch in a traditional Romagnolo pub, and being able to admire historic buildings surrounded by the streets in old villages: there are many ways to get a close-up view of Romagna, its people and its history.
Stop at Taverna degli Artisti tavern in Rimini (Marina Centro area) to taste the many local specialities and be surrounded by the typical atmosphere of the dolce vita, or at Marinelli da Vittorio restaurant to enjoy good fresh fish.

Shopping

Shopping

Just like tasting local specialities, shopping is a must for those visiting the Riviera of Rimini. The Riviera Romagnola is a true place for trends, styles and artistic expression.

There are two very different realities in Rimini: the shops along the seaside are open late in the summer and are located on the street running alongside the beach. Anything can be found here, from souvenirs to clothing. And then there is the historic town centre.  This is home to designer boutiques, shops selling artistic crafts such as hand-printed textiles, pottery and wrought-iron objects, art shops and shops where local products can be purchased.
